Happy discovery :: Sabio by the sea

This blog is not abandoned or anything like that. In fact, with the New Year, I was thinking hard if I should discontinue blogging given that I am not disciplined enough to update it every now and then. I only have myself to blame for my lost readers. With the festive season that has just passed, I'd rather be wrapping presents, planning get-togethers, decorating and cleaning my house than sitting in my study in front of the imac. 

Anyway, without getting too distracted on stuff, I'd like to share a new restaurant in town. I'm a sucker for anything Spanish. I love Spanish food, Spanish dance, Spain in general. There is a new tapas restaurant in town that I am dying to check out. The restaurant's decor theme is what I would describe as rugged contemporary (!) with a Spanish twist ♥ ♥ ♥

Zalora

I found this local site Zalora that has stylishly modest collections of clothing and accessories for both the ladies as well as the guys! I am now furiously filling up my wish list.

Loving the turquoise stone clutch. Sophisticated + fun

Perfect for days when I juggle invoices, name cards, carpark coupons and reminders on event days. The price is super decent at only SGD 9.90

 I am a chunky jewellery person.

 This pair oozes beach glam vibe! I think super perfect for weddings or parties by the beach?

Ah.. who can resist zebra prints. I would wear this everyday.

Rue - A home in Singapore

One of the very few things I look forward to - online magazines full of eye-candy. They just brighten up your day don't they? Rue Issue 6 (thats live now) features gorgeous homes and, this time, not a single house tour is from the US. They even featured a home in Singapore and I couldnt resist blogging about it.

Coveting saarinen

We are eyeing on the replica of the Saarinen dining table. It comes in black marble top *inhale* The hubz and I are such vainpots, especially when it comes to our home. But it goes beyond vanity, I LOVE Eero Saarinen's purist approach to architecture and interior design. Basically the designer reduced his idea to an effective structural solution. His exact words were "The underside of typical chairs and tables makes a confusing, unrestful world. I wanted to clear up the slum of legs." I also love that he has collaborated with one of my favorite furniture designers of all time, Charles Eames in the 1930s that led to the creation of the Womb and Tulip chairs.

We visited a furniture store in an industrial area in Singapore that sells designer replicas. Visiting the store is always a feast for the eyes and we always end up purchasing something even though our apartment in not ready ... yet! So far we got replicas of the Philip Starck's ghost chairs, an Eames chair, a lucite coffee table and almost a Saarinen tulip oval dining table in black. I laid my eyes on a lamp that seems to be inspired from Ochre's arctic pear chandelier and can't get my mind off it since.
